Bursa
Bursa is a city where history and nature collide beautifully. As the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, it’s packed with history and green spaces, earning it the nickname “Green Bursa” because of all its lovely parks and gardens.
You can check out some stunning early Ottoman architecture, like the Great Mosque (Ulu Cami), which is a beautiful example of Seljuk-Ottoman design. Don’t forget to visit the Green Mosque and Green Tomb, too. They show off the amazing artistry of that era. The historical markets and caravanserais give you a fun peek into its past as a major stop on the Silk Road.
And looming over the city is Mount Uludag, a fantastic getaway no matter the season. In winter, Uludag is one of Turkey’s best ski centers, and in summer, it is perfect for a retreat or hiking with the cool, pine-scented air and hiking trails. You can’t leave Bursa without trying its famous Iskender Kebab—it’s the perfect treat after a day of wandering around. Overall, Bursa offers a cool mix of history, nature, and delicious food that makes for a really memorable experience.
