This 7-day Biblical Turkey Tour combines several of the Seven Churches of Revelation with important early Christian sites in Ephesus, Pamukkale and Cappadocia. 7-Day Biblical Turkey Tour

Day 1: Smyrna and Pergamon

You will meet your guide in Izmir, Selcuk or Kusadasi and begin your Biblical Turkey tour with two important cities connected with the Seven Churches of Revelation.
The first visit is Smyrna, modern-day Izmir. Your guide will explain the history of the ancient city and the early Christian community addressed in the Book of Revelation.
You will then continue to Pergamon, one of the most important cities of the ancient world and another of the Seven Churches of Revelation. You will explore the archaeological remains while learning about the historical and biblical background of the city.
At the end of the tour, you will return to your hotel.
Overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 2: Thyatira, Sardis and Philadelphia (Breakfast)

After breakfast, you will travel through western Turkey to visit three more cities of the Seven Churches of Revelation.
You will begin this tour with Thyatira. It is located in modern-day Akhisar, before continuing to Sardis, once the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Lydia. Here, you will explore the archaeological remains and learn about the early Christian community mentioned in Revelation.
The final visit of the day is Philadelphia, modern-day Alasehir. Your guide will explain the city’s historical setting and its place among the Seven Churches.
After the tour, you will continue to Pamukkale.

Day 3: Hierapolis, Pamukkale and Laodicea (Breakfast)

After breakfast, you will visit the ancient city of Hierapolis, where you will see the theatre, necropolis, Roman baths, monumental gates and other remains from the Roman and Byzantine periods.
You will then have time to see the white travertine terraces of Pamukkale, formed over thousands of years by mineral-rich thermal waters.
The final visit is Laodicea, one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. You will explore the extensive archaeological remains while your guide explains the city’s history, early Christian community and biblical significance.
After the tour, you will continue to Kusadasi.

Day 4: Ephesus, House of the Virgin Mary and Basilica of St. John (Breakfast)

Today you will visit Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean and one of the Seven Churches of Revelation.
You will walk along its marble streets and see the Library of Celsus, Great Theatre, Temple of Hadrian, Agora and other important monuments. Your guide will also explain the city’s connection with St. Paul, John the Apostle and the development of early Christianity.
The tour continues to the House of the Virgin Mary, traditionally associated with the final years of Mary’s life.
You will also visit the Basilica of St. John in Selcuk, built over the traditional burial place of John the Apostle.
At the end of the tour, you will return to your hotel.

Day 5: Flight to Cappadocia (Breakfast)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Izmir Airport for your flight to Cappadocia.
Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be free to rest or explore the area at your own pace.

Day 6: Biblical Cappadocia Tour (Breakfast)

Today you will explore the early Christian heritage of Cappadocia, a region known for its rock-cut churches, monasteries and centuries-old Christian settlements.
You will visit Goreme Open-Air Museum, where churches carved into the volcanic rock preserve important examples of Byzantine frescoes and religious art.
The programme also includes other rock-cut churches and early Christian sites in the region. Your guide will explain the development of monastic life in Cappadocia and the importance of the region in the history of Eastern Christianity.
At the end of the tour, you will return to your hotel.

Day 7: Southern Cappadocia Tour and Flight to Istanbul (Breakfast)

After breakfast, you will continue exploring Cappadocia with a visit to one of the region’s underground cities.
You will walk through tunnels and see living areas, kitchens, storage rooms and ventilation systems carved beneath the ground.
The tour also includes valleys, viewpoints and other important sites in southern Cappadocia before your transfer to the airport.
You will fly to Istanbul, where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight in Istanbul.

Are domestic flights and accommodation included in the tour price?

The price covers all three domestic flight tickets (Izmir-Kayseri and Kayseri-Istanbul, plus one internal flight to Izmir) and 6 nights of accommodation in 4-star standard hotels (Izmir, Pamukkale, Kusadasi, Cappadocia, and Istanbul). All transfers are also included.

Is lunch and dinner included in the tour price?

Breakfast is included on all mornings. Lunch and dinner are NOT included on any day of the Private Tour. Your guide will happily assist you in selecting preferred local restaurants, allowing you to sample authentic regional cuisine. Drinks are not included in any meal.

What entrance fees are not included in the tour package?

Almost all main entrance fees are included. However, the fee for the Terrace Houses at Ephesus and the swimming fee for Cleopatra's Pool at Pamukkale are not included and must be paid separately at the site if you choose to enter/swim. The Hot Air Balloon Flight is optional and not included, but we will happily arrange your reservation.

What should I wear for this spiritual journey?

Modest attire is required on all days of the tour, as you visit numerous sacred and religious sites. Shoulders and knees should be covered. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for the archaeological sites and the Ihlara Valley hike.

Is the Hot Air Balloon Flight included in the package?

No, the Hot Air Balloon Flight is optional and not included in the package price. However, we will happily arrange your balloon reservation for you upon request.

Are the sites stroller or wheelchair accessible?

The transfers and surrounding areas are accessible. However, archaeological sites (Ephesus, Hierapolis) and the Kaymakli Underground City may be challenging due to uneven terrain and stairs. Access may be limited to specific sections, but your guide will assist you with the best available routes.

Do I have to remove my shoes and socks to walk on the Pamukkale terraces?

Yes, on Day 3, when visiting the Pamukkale travertines, all visitors are required to remove their shoes and socks to protect the white terraces. You will walk barefoot.

What quality of accommodation is included?

All overnight stays are arranged in comfortable, 4-star standard hotels (or equivalent highly-rated specialty accommodation like a cave hotel in Cappadocia).
