5-Day Cappadocia, Pamukkale and Ephesus Package Tour From Istanbul

Day 1: Flight to Izmir and Ephesus Tour (Lunch)

You will be transferred from your Istanbul hotel to the airport for your flight to Izmir. Upon arrival, you will meet your guide and continue to Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean.
You will walk along the marble streets and see major landmarks including the Library of Celsus, Great Theatre, Temple of Hadrian, Agora and other important remains from the Roman period.
The tour also includes the House of the Virgin Mary, traditionally associated with the final years of Mary’s life.
At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kusadasi.
Overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 2: Pamukkale and Hierapolis Tour (Breakfast – Lunch)

After breakfast, you will travel to Pamukkale, known for its white travertine terraces formed by mineral-rich thermal waters.
You will also visit the ancient city of Hierapolis, where you will see the theatre, necropolis, Roman baths, monumental gates and other remains from the Roman and Byzantine periods.
There will be time to walk on the permitted sections of the Pamukkale travertines before returning to Kusadasi.

Day 3: Flight to Cappadocia (Breakfast)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Izmir Airport for your flight to Cappadocia.
Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
The rest of the day will be free to rest or explore the area at your own pace.

Day 4: Northern Cappadocia Tour (Breakfast – Lunch)

After breakfast, you will begin exploring Northern Cappadocia, known for its fairy chimneys, rock-cut churches, valleys and historic settlements.
The programme includes the Goreme Open-Air Museum, where you will see churches carved into the volcanic rock and examples of Byzantine frescoes.
You will also visit panoramic viewpoints, valleys and traditional settlements that reflect the natural and cultural history of Cappadocia.
At the end of the tour, you will return to your hotel.

Day 5: Southern Cappadocia Tour and Flight to Istanbul (Breakfast – Lunch)

After breakfast, you will continue exploring Cappadocia with a tour of the southern part of the region.
The programme includes one of Cappadocia’s underground cities, where you can walk through tunnels and see living areas, kitchens, storage rooms and ventilation systems carved beneath the ground.
You will also visit valleys, viewpoints and other important sites that show another side of Cappadocia’s landscape and history.
At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Istanbul.
Upon arrival in Istanbul, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

What is the difference between the Small Group and Private Tour options?

The Small Group Tour is the most cost-effective choice, traveling with a maximum of 12 guests (Ephesus/Pamukkale) or 14 guests (Cappadocia). The Private Tour option provides you and your party with an exclusive vehicle and guide for the entire 5-day trip, offering maximum flexibility and personalized pace.

Are domestic flights and accommodation included in the tour price?

Yes, this is a full-service package. The price covers your round-trip domestic flight tickets (Istanbul-Izmir, Izmir-Kayseri, and Kayseri-Istanbul) and 4 nights of accommodation in 4-star standard hotels.

Is lunch included in the tour price?

Yes, lunch is included on all three sightseeing days (Day 1, 4, and 5) for Small Group Tour guests. For Private Tour guests, lunch is not included; however, your guide will happily assist you in selecting a preferred local restaurant. Drinks are not included in either option.

Is the Hot Air Balloon Flight included in the package?

No, the Hot Air Balloon Flight is optional and not included in the package price. However, we will happily arrange your balloon reservation for you upon request.

What entrance fees are not included in the tour package?

Almost all main entrance fees are included. However, the fee for the Terrace Houses at Ephesus and the swimming fee for Cleopatra's Pool at Pamukkale are not included and must be paid separately at the site if you choose to enter/swim.

What should I wear and bring for the tour?

You will need a variety of clothing: modest attire (shoulders and knees covered) for the House of the Virgin Mary. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for all ancient sites and the 4km hike in Cappadocia. Also, bring a swimsuit and towel for Pamukkale.

Are the sites stroller or wheelchair accessible?

The transfers and surrounding areas are accessible. However, archaeological sites (Ephesus, Hierapolis) and the Kaymakli Underground City may be challenging due to uneven terrain and stairs. Your guide will assist you with the best available routes.

Do I have to remove my shoes and socks to walk on the Pamukkale terraces?

Yes, on Day 2, when visiting the Pamukkale travertines, all visitors are required to remove their shoes and socks to protect the white terraces. You will walk barefoot.

Can the itinerary change?

The overall route remains the same, but the order of visits or daily schedule may change according to domestic flight times, opening hours, weather and local operating conditions.
