Istanbul Timeless Treasures Tour Details:

  • We’ll commence our tour by picking you up from Istanbul Cruise Port and transporting you to the enchanting old city of Istanbul, where we will embark on a journey through the rich history of Byzantine and Ottoman relics.
  • Our initial destination is the illustrious Sultan Ahmet Square, a place of profound historical significance situated at the very heart of the former Byzantine and Ottoman Empires.
  • Following our visit to Sultan Ahmet Square, we will proceed to the awe-inspiring Hagia Sophia, a remarkable testament to Greek architecture and once renowned as the world’s largest cathedral. This historic structure has undergone a remarkable transformation, evolving from a pagan temple to an emblem of diverse beliefs and cultures.
  • Continuing our exploration, we will make our way to the Sultan Ahmet Mosque, affectionately known as the Blue Mosque, celebrated for its resplendent blue Iznik tiles. Notably, this mosque received a visit from Pope Benedict XVI during his 2006 sojourn in Istanbul.
  • Our next stop will bring us to the fascinating Hippodrome of Constantinople, originally erected in 203 AD. Initially utilized for chariot races and various events, remnants of its grandeur still endure, including The Obelisk of Thutmose III, The Serpent Column, and the Walled Obelisk.
  • Subsequently, we will delve into the Caferaga Medresesi, a historical site hailing from the era of Suleiman The Magnificent, also known as Kanuni Sultan Süleyman.
  • Our journey will then lead us to the illustrious Topkapi Palace, a former residence of Ottoman Sultans spanning nearly four centuries. Today, it stands as a museum, showcasing invaluable Muslim relics such as Muhammed’s cloak and sword.
  • The final highlight of our tour will be a visit to the Grand Bazaar, an unparalleled marvel as the world’s largest and oldest covered market. Comprising an intricate labyrinth of 61 streets and over 3000 shops, it offers an extensive array of jewelry, antiques, and souvenirs. The construction of this remarkable bazaar commenced in 1455, following the conquest of Constantinople.
  • At the conclusion of this captivating journey through history and culture, we will escort you back to Istanbul Cruise Port, ensuring a memorable and enriching experience.

Please note: On Tuesdays, when the Topkapi Palace is closed, we will  visit the Basilica Cistern instead.

Visitors should dress modestly when visiting mosques, with appropriate attire for the Blue Mosque. Scarves are required for women inside the mosque, and shoes must be removed (you can carry them in a plastic bag).
