Half Day Ottoman Relics Tour Program
- Begin your Half Day Ottoman Relics Tour with a convenient morning pickup from your hotel. This tour is a journey into the grandeur of the Ottoman Empire, taking you through some of the most historically significant sites in the city.
- Our first destination is the magnificent Topkapi Palace, once the primary residence of the Ottoman sultans for almost 400 years. As you wander through its opulent courtyards and ornate rooms, you’ll be transported back to the days of imperial splendor. The palace also houses important holy relics of the Muslim world and is a treasure trove of artifacts and exhibits.
- Next, we’ll visit the Rustem Pasha Mosque, known for its exquisite Iznik tiles that adorn its walls and ceiling. This hidden gem, located in the heart of the old city, showcases the intricate artistry of the Ottoman era.
- Following the mosque, we’ll explore the Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. With over 4,000 shops, it’s a vibrant testament to Istanbul’s commercial history. Here, you can find everything from spices and traditional Turkish delights to handmade carpets and jewelry.
- As the tour concludes, we’ll transport you back to your hotel. This half-day exploration offers a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Ottoman history, culture, and architecture, leaving you with a deeper appreciation of Istanbul’s past and present.
Please be aware that Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays. In this case, we will visit the Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Sarnıcı) instead. This underground cistern, also known as the Sunken Cistern, was built in the 6th century A.D. and is the largest of its kind beneath Istanbul.
